The dynamic duo host of Bloody Angola: A Podcast by Woody Overton and Jim Chapman turned up (as the kids like to say) with honors in their individual podcast during the 17th annual Peoples Choice Podcast Awards which was live streamed globally Friday September 30th 2022.
Woody Overton, host of Real Life Real Crime dominated the night taking home the most awards in the 17 year history of the Podcast awards winning in 4 categories!
Those catagories include:
Best Male Host: Woody Overton
Best Storyteller/Drama: Woody Overton
Best True Crime Podcast: Real Life Real Crime
and the surprise of the night.....
Listener Influencer of the Year: Woody Overton
The Latter category is even more amazing than it may appear as over 3 million podcasters worldwide are eligible for the influencer of the year award. Real Life Real Crime is Produced by Jim Chapman (co-host of Bloody Angola) and his company Envision Podcast Studios.
Jim Chapman was also spotlighted during the ceremony as his individual podcast Local Leaders:The Podcast made the finals in the highly contested Best Business Podcast Category.
Although Local Leaders did not win the night in that category, this "hyper local" Podcast created quite the stir having made the finals and TOP 10 for the second consecutive year.
The Peoples Choice Podcast awards is the longest running podcast awards show honoring the entire podcast industry. The podcast Awards is also the only awards show with the format focusing solely on the votes of the fan base.
This year turned out the highest amount of votes in the history of the Podcast Awards with over 5.7 million votes being cast, a testament to the massive growth in popularity of podcasts globally.
Woody Overton and Jim Chapman are both residents of Denham Springs, Louisiana.
What a night for both of the co-host of Bloody Angola Podcast that would have made even Joe Rogan proud!
